Under the direction of a Neurosensory Tech II and in accordance with established procedures, operates the electroencephalograph machine and evoked response equipment, to measure brain wave characteristics for use by physicians in diagnostic brain disorders. In doing so, reviews patient medical charts, explains procedures to patients and/or families in order to reduce anxieties and elicit cooperation. Positions patient for testing and operating equipment. Performs duties under minimal supervision.
Graduate from a two year health care school.
CPR course C certification required.
Approximately six (6) months on-the-job experience necessary in order to become familiar with hospital equipment, department policies and procedures.
