As an indispensable part of the surgical team, we provide advanced monitoring of neural structures at risk during complex neurosurgical, vascular, and orthopedic procedures. Real time neurophysiological monitoring backed by a board certified clinical neurophysiologist allows us to detect the early signs of impending loss of neurologic function. By providing the surgical team an early warning of these events and allowing immediate intervention, patients are protected from potentially life altering changes to their quality of life. As a CNIM technologist with NeuroConnect you will work hand in hand with high quality interdiscplinary teams to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Perform appropriate interview with patient to ascertain relevant past medical history, preoperative symptoms, and potential contraindications.
Work in conjunction with surgical team, anesthesia team, and interpreting physician to plan effective intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring plan.
Implement IONM plan by preparing and applying electrodes to effectively monitor key structures at risk for each procedure utilizing universal precautions and aseptic technique.
Collect and display baseline neurophysiological data and review with surgical team, anesthesia team, and interpreting physician including preoperative abnormalities.
Effectively troubleshoot deviations to normal neurophysiological data and communicate steps taken to interpreting physician.
Communicate clinically significant deviations from baseline neurophysiological data to surgeon
Appropriately document all findings, communications with surgical/anesthesia/interpreting physician, surgical events, and relevant changes to IONM data.
Foster and maintain positive working relationships with hospital staff and surgeons

CNIM certification required
BS in a life sciences discipline preferred with strong background in neuroscience. Associate’s degree with current neurodiagnostic registries (R.EP.T, R.EEG.T, etc) also considered
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or AHA recognized equivalent
Up to date immunizations with available documentation
CNIM Certification with 1-2 years of experience in spine, neurosurgical, vascular, and ENT surgeries.
Extensive experience and proficiency monitoring all major IONM modalities, including: SSEP, MEP, BAEP, EMG, and EEG.
Knowledge of basic anesthesia principles and commonly used anesthesia drugs’ effects on IONM recordings
Ability to work in a fast paced OR environment
Ability to maintain professional composure in stressful circumstances
Excellent written and communication skills
Proficiency working with Cadwell IONM equipment and Cascade IONM acquistion software
Proficiency with Windows operating systems
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and abilities
Ability to adapt to change in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
