Position Summary: This is a flexible PRN position where the ideal candidate would work either on-call only for IONM and EEG every 6th weekend OR work PRN and pick up additional 8-10 hour shifts during the week performing EEG, EMG and/or IONM. Performs intraoperative monitoring procedures, including test setup, electrode application, maintaining patient safety, and other related duties for routine single and multi-modality IOM. Performs tests and clinical interventions in areas of EEG, EMG and EP monitoring in 24 hour hospital setting. Assist physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and disorders of the brain and central nervous system through the provision of neurodiagnostic testing. Recognizes artifact and documents, eliminates, or takes proper measures to monitor the artifact. Explain testing procedures to patients, answering questions or reassuring patients as needed Maintains and troubleshooting multiple neurodiagnostic testing equipment. Coordinates and prioritizes scheduling of both inpatient and outpatient procedures while ensuring proper document flow and storage according to established departmental guidelines. Assists in the instruction and hands-on technical training of neurodiagnostic techs on the principles of neurodiagnostic procedures and equipment operation. Assures the completion of all patient testing procedures coordinating the inpatient demand with outpatient schedule within established time frames, as observed by supervision.
