Swedish Medical Center is looking for a EEG Technologist (1.0 FTE, Variable) to work in the EEG at Swedish Issaquah in Seattle, WA.
Our program has a national reputation for medical and surgical treatment of seizure disorders and is accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers as a level-four center, which indicates the most comprehensive level of care for patients with epileptic seizures. The Swedish Neurophysiology program is accredited by ABRET in EEG, LTM, CLTM and NIOM.
The EEG lab at Swedish Issaquah campus is expanding with the addition of a pediatric epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU). Issaquah, a beautiful campus located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range is 20 minutes east of downtown Seattle. This position supports outpatient and inpatient EEG and evoked potential studies and assists in the pediatric EMU and PICU.
In this position you will: Under general supervision this position performs electrophysiological studies on patients using medical instrumentation and computers according to ACNS guidelines. Must be available for standby and on-call duties as assigned. • Responsible for performing EEG testing on adults and pediatric patients in all patient care settings according to established protocols • Ability to operate electronic /computerized EEG monitoring equipment • Set-up and maintain surface electrodes • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients and exchange information with physicians, nurses, EEG technologists, and office staff • Provide a safe recording environment and utilizes clinical judgment of patient status to seek additional nursing and provider support • Responsible for calibration/operation of EEG equipment and utilizes troubleshooting skills to correct machine malfunctions • Responsible for logging & submitting all information for interpretation to the physician. • Participate sin conferences and technical meetings
Qualifications: Required qualifications for this position include: • H.S. Diploma or GED Graduate of minimum two year electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation Or two years of college in a related field and/or equivalent formal training approved by the Medical Director • Required 1year EEG experience working in an EEG lab • Registry required by the American Board of Registration of EEG and evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).
