Monitor intermittent or continuous patient data remotely for care, integrity and quality.
Must be independently driven and must be able to make high level independent judgments based on EEG integrity needs once properly trained and released for independent monitoring.
Must be able to navigate technology seamlessly and troubleshoot IT and patient issues very well.
• Medication effects on the EEG background and waveforms • Medical terminology and accepted abbreviations • Signs, symptoms, and EEG correlates for adult neurological disorders • Signs, symptoms, and EEG correlates for pediatric neurological disorders • seizure manifestations, classifications, and EEG correlates • Psychiatric and psychological disorders and EEG correlates. • The EEG technologist understands and follows technical criteria for • Recording neonatal EEG • Recording pediatric EEG. • Normal and normal variants awake and asleep patterns for each age range • Abnormal awake and asleep patterns for each age range • EEG patterns for levels of consciousness • Clinical and non-convulsive seizure patterns.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The EEG Patient Monitor has an expected level of competence and is able to independently perform duties and responsibilities for electroencephalography under general technical supervision; recognizes clinically significant events and follows Neurovative Diagnostics policy and procedures regarding critical test results maintains continuing education requirements of ABRET for R. EEG T. credential by reviewing literature and attending educational meetings for the latest accepted practices and electrical safety relevant to equipment and testing; establishes policies and procedures according to established standards of practice; performs any other related duties that are consistent with patient and technical care for this level; participates in tutoring, demonstrating, and mentoring other team members; provides direct technical supervision and indirect technical supervision to the EEG Technologist I as required.
