Pediatric Infectious Disease Clinical Laboratory Manager

Responsibilities The Laboratory Center (LC) grants sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH)/National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID)/Division of AIDS (DIADS) has been awarded to Dr. Grace Aldrovandi, Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at UCLA. These grants require our group to conduct oversight for laboratories around the world that are participating in clinical trials sponsored by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and IMPAACT (International Maternal Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials) networks. As our Clinical Laboratory Manager position you will be responsible for oversight of international laboratories by validation and verification of cGMP, SOP, and other performance metrics for clinical trials. You will manage quality assurance/quality control for international laboratory network and will educate fellows, trainees, laboratory members, and collaborating laboratories in the diagnosis, treatment and regulatory aspects of laboratory medicine. Our Clinical Laboratory Manager will be involved in representing research results at local, national or international conferences and participating in publications and presentation as author or co-author. The Lab Manager will also be responsible for assisting in preparation of grant proposals and submissions and developing and maintaining next generation sequencing pipelines for whole genome sequencing, and analysis of bacteria, fungi and viruses. *Contract, may become career Qualifications
