This is an advanced level position The EEG Technologist III is credentialed in EEG (R. EEG T) and a second credential (CNIM, CLTM R. EP T.) which qualifies them to provide a descriptive analysis of the waveforms and patterns relevant to the modality of their credentials but is not responsible for interpretation or clinical correlation of the data. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Coordinator and Neurophysiology Manager, they can perform all core functions of the job and are competent in electrocorticography (ECoG), eloquent cortex cortical mapping, and subdural electrode implants. Strong well-developed communication skills are essential for this position. The EEG Technologist III has developed the highest skills and expertise to provide the most complex monitoring needed for brain and epilepsy surgery cases and during all intraoperative long-term monitoring procedures.
Department: Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Variable, weekend availability required
EDUCATION – High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE – 3 years’ experience and 1 year in a pediatric setting.
CERTIFICATION(S) – BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR.
LICENSE – ABRET Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) + 1 (CLTM/ REPT/CNIM) by the American Board of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).
