Texas Oncology is looking for a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead- Flow Cytometry to join our team!This position will support the Sammons Dallas location. This position is Monday though Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm. No weekends or Major Holidays. What does the Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead do?
Is responsible for accurately performing specimen analysis, instrument maintenance and quality control procedures including moderate and high complexity laboratory tests. Initiates and follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Will act as primary operator for Beckman Coulter Navious EX. Will serve as the primary trainer and resource for flow laboratory procedures. Will be the working technical lead for day to day operations in the flow laboratory; overseeing daily laboratory activities for both technical and non-technical. Assists main laboratory as needed. Assists the Lab Manager in budgeting and cost analysis. Assists lab manager with billing Interface, monthly QA/QC records, insuring that all data is submitted to respective programs for analysis before the deadline. Collates data and stores in logs to meet COLA/CLIA requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities:
Performs specimen analysis for all flow samples done in house for moderate and high complexity laboratory tests.
Acts as working technical lead of day to day operations for the flow laboratory.
Assists lab manager with billing report as needed.
Completes end of month QA/QC reporting, maintenance of lab records, insures all data is reported to pertinent IQAP programs.
Assists with main laboratory when needed.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead- Flow Cytometry position will have the following background and experience:
Education/Training - Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science field.
Minimum five years' experience in flow testing preferred.
Experience with Beckman Coulter Navious EX preferred.
Knowledge of COLA and CLIA regulations preferred.
