The role you’ll contribute:
The Neurology Technician performs all aspects neurodiagnostic testing including, but not limited to, electroencephalograms, multi-modality evoked potentials, electronystagmograms, and surgical monitoring on patients of varying ages and medical conditions. Works independently, utilizing variety of sophisticated instrumentation and decision making in the treatment and handling of patients. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements of processes and service on an on-going basis

Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
Performs neurology procedures according to physician orders, department policy/procedure, and patient care plan.
Cross trains and signs off competencies for relief staff
Assures annual mandatory hospital health review/competencies are completed in a timely manner
Follows the “Standard of Behavior” guidelines per hospital policy.
Maintains and records adverse reactions to neurology procedures.
Performs thorough patient assessment and takes appropriate action when necessary.
Team approach is followed so customer service maintains a score of 95% or better
Obtains, assists with, and seeks neurology educational /informational opportunities.
Uses hospital equipment, supplies, and resources responsibly, maintains organized workflow, and notifies facilitator as soon as it is seen that therapy cannot be completed on time.
Follows procedures for correct billing/documentation of services provided.
Works to stay within budgeted requirements
Practice A.I.D.E.T (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, and Thank) with all patients, family members, physicians, co-workers and all disciplines to ensure quality care.
Assessment and intervention reflect consideration of family/work roles and obligations to our adult patients
Explain modification of teaching strategies to accommodate decreased vision, hearing or mental status to our geriatric patients.
Understand the medical center’s process when a non-English speaking patient comes in to have a neurology procedure.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Up to 1 year of experience
Associate’s Degree or Graduate of a Technical School preferred
1 to 2 Years of position-related experience
BLS obtained through the American Heart Association required
Registered EEG Tech preferred
Registered EP Tech preferred
