The Cytotechnologist serves in the anatomic pathology/ cytology section of the pathology laboratory. The incumbent serves as the gatekeeper for all cytology specimens that are processed in cytology and is responsible for day-to-day oversight of specimen preparation, quality control, quality assurance and proficiency testing programs within the cytology section. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
