SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible to assist in the performance of complex ablation procedures including the gathering of and assisting in the interpretation of EP specific clinical data and intracardiac measurements (i.e. electrograms and 3-D mapping); functioning in the 1st assistant role during ablation procedures and device implants (pacemakers and ICDs); and acting as a resource to other staff regarding ablative and mapping procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or equivalent knowledge, graduate of a CVT or EPT program and 3 - 5 years experience in Interventional EP Lab with extensive knowledge of EPS and device implant procedures, and 2 years experience mapping systems and ablation techniques required. NASPE/HRS EP or RCES certification required or within 3 years of hire date. ACLS and PALS required. Must have advanced knowledge of Electrophysiology: cardiac anatomy and physiology, ECG interpretation, intracardiac electrograms, EP procedures and protocols, ablation techniques and mapping systems. Thorough knowledge of principles of fluoroscopy/radiation safety, sterile techique, scrubing, circulating and recording EP procedures and device implants required.
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS*: Able to stand, walk & sit frequently. Able to lift 0-10 lbs constantly; 11-50 lbs occasionally. Able to Carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally. Able to push 0-10 lbs constantly; 11-75 lbs ocassionally. Able to pull 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-75 lbs occasionally. Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
