SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible to prepare patients for and perform routine Neurophysiology Laboratory (END) procedures. Collect data pertinent to the interpretation of test results. Assists Senior Neurophysiology Technologists or medical staff with complex recordings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Either Graduate of a Neurophysiology Technician Program or at least six (6) months job related experience in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab required.
BLS certification required or must obtain within 1 month from date of hire.
Competency in multiple electrode application techniques required.
Positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, lab staff, physicians, and other members of the hospital staff required.
A working knowledge of neuro-anatomy, physiology, basic electronics, electrical safety, END instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions that influence END procedures required.
Basic computer skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END Program), or an Associate¿s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Successful completion of Part I of ABRET exam preferred.
